DESCRIPTION:
This module aims to introduce you to unit management. Registered nurses who work in clinics or hospitals are confronted from the beginning of their working lives with the demands of management tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the unit in which they work. Although these functions might take a back seat to master the clinical care delivery tasks at the beginning, they very soon become an increasing part of the job.
OVERALL LEARNING OUTCOMES
§ Demonstrate the ability to interrogate multiple sources of knowledge in Unit Management and Leadership and to evaluate knowledge and processes of knowledge production related to Unit Management and Leadership
§ Demonstrate an understanding of the complexities and uncertainties of selecting, applying, or transferring appropriate standard Unit Management and Leadership procedures, processes, or techniques to unfamiliar problems in Unit Management and Leadership
§ Demonstrate the ability to use a range of specialized skills to identify, analyze and address complex or abstract Unit Management and Leadership problems drawing systematically on the body of knowledge and methods appropriate to Unit Management and Leadership
