Greetings dear Students,

Welcome to the core Module: Introduction to Public Sector Financial Management.

As mentioned last week in classes, this is a very vibrant, dynamic and exciting module that focuses on key aspects relating to public financial management in the country, Africa and the globally.

Our prescribed text focuses on the South African system of government finance, and I will be sharing what is happening in Africa and globally in examples in classes.

Keep yourself updated on the State of Nation Address (SONA), commentaries surrounding the critique, the forthcoming BUDGET SPEECH, State of Province Address (SOPA) as important processes and policy documents at the start of public finance in the country, and as important sections in our module.

Remember to download some of the important documents that I will share with you in class 2moro.

Welcome to this exciting and dynamic core module: Advanced Public Sector Financial Management (PADM8WO) offered in Semester 1 of this year.

The module focuses on all pertinent aspects of government finance in a South African, regional and global context.

I will be taking you through the finer details of the module in classes which commences next week.
