This course focuses on the general characteristics of viruses, viroids, and prions. The lectures will detail how the pathogens are transmitted, how they behave once they are in their respective hosts, and how the infected host will respond to the infection which results in the development of symptoms. Important plant, human, and animal infecting viruses will be used as examples to explain these concepts. The different strategies used to control/manage the diseases caused by these pathogens will be discussed
