This module develops the fundamental methods and competencies to interpret the Bible, employing the Tripolar Method of biblical interpretation. Furthermore, this module provides advanced, in-depth and detailed analysis of the three primary components of African biblical interpretation: the biblical text, the African context, and the mediating ideo-theological framework. Students will develop competencies of using this method and the tools employed, in order to read texts within their contexts. The module will develop students’ competencies to use critical methods of analysis of the Bible, reading the Bible in context and the hermeneutical resources available to engage with the African contexts.
