Aim of Module
The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the factors/behaviours that influence individuals’ actions in the workplace. We are also interested in knowing how the individual intersects with organisational and HR processes in the workplace. Once you have completed this module, you should have an introductory understanding of some of the complex ways in which human beings and organisations intersect.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The broad expected learning outcomes for this module are:
§ you will understand and be able to describe and explain some key issues in the fields of organisational psychology and HRM, specifically : individual differences, learning, memory, motivation, personality, abilities, attitudes, perception, group behaviour, human resource functions, and trends of human resources management in South Africa.
§ you will have an ability to take a broad critical view of factors that influence individual behaviour in the workplace.
§ you will, on an individual basis, be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding of the psychology of individual behaviour in the workplace environment relevant for Human Resources Practitioners.
